WHERE TO LOOK

Learn about Tauranga retirement villages, senior's housing & 55+ villages (independent, unpaid reviews)

Tauranga South - Pyes Pa, Oropi, Ohauiti, Welcome Bay

The growth of The Lakes and the closely located Tauranga Crossing shopping precinct has completely changed the face of this area.

Some of the smaller houses and easy walking makes The Lakes popular with seniors.  There are several large established Tauranga retirement villages and 55+ villages in Pyes Pa, Ohauiti and Welcome Bay.

Tauranga West - Bethlehem, Outmoetai, Matua & Omokoroa

From the established suburb of Matua to the new developments of Bethlehem, these areas are popular with seniors.

Bethlehem in particular with it’s beautiful gardens and easy access to shopping is an area where many move for their easy retirement years.

Bethlehem contains several new lifestyle villages ranging from the small boutique villages to the large national lifestyle village providers.

Tauranga Central

With its flat central location, Tauranga Central has long been a popular place to settle. It has taken a while for Tauranga to develop central city apartment accommodation although this is starting to change.

The new Farmers development of Elizabeth Towers is attracting the interest of those looking to downsize to low maintenance and easy access homes. Although there is a way to go, this will be the beginning of the move back into the central city

Tauranga East - Mt Maunganui to Golden Sands

A retirement mecca for generations, the Mount Maunganui peninsular remains a popular destination for retirees looking for sun, shopping, and “surf” and easy walking areas.

With a multitude of Tauranga retirement villages ranging for all tastes, this area can feel like being on holiday all year round.

Continued growth towards the proposed new Te Tumu development area has led to new lifestyle villages being established and the opportunity to move in without a long wait.
